SINTEF AS
Norway
SINTEF AS is a multidisciplinary research organisation with international top-level expertise in the fields of technology, natural sciences, medicine and social sciences. It is Scandinavia’s largest independent non-profit research organisation and conducts contract R&D for the private and public sector. It is SINTEF’s vision to create “technology for a better society”. The organization does so by implementing and commercialising their research results through newly founded businesses, hence making technologies readily available for the market place.
SINTEF is represented in this consortium by SINTEF Digital, specialising in information and communications technology, and SINTEF Building and Infrastructure, focusing on sustainable solutions for buildings and neighbourhoods. SINTEF is responsible for project coordination and technical management and has the lead in the architecture design and interoperability specification. In addition, SINTEF is heavily involved in the evaluation of the technical prototype and stakeholder acceptance as well as in the Oslo pilot to coordinate and support the pilot implementation. SINTEF’s combined expertise in information technology and zero emission / energy flexibility is a great asset in this project to establish Energy Smart Neighbourhoods.
